Ive been wondering because some people told me only the winner will go to the olympics...

china is automatically qualified for the olympics because they are the host of the event.. that's why they just send the B team for their country...
on the bad side of the story... the winner(champion) of the fiba asia qualifying that happening right now at japan.. is the second country to qualify for the olympics.. ONLY TWO TEAMS/COUNTY in basketball will qualify for asia, for the said olympics....
china + the winner of the tournament and that's it.....

The 1st and 2nd placers go to the Olympics. China, even though they're already eliminated, is still assured of a slot in the Olympics being the host country. So 3 Asian countries will be competing in the Summer Games.

a spot on the olympics. china is already qualified for the olympics, that's why only china team B is competing on the tournament. the champion of tournament will qualify for the olympics (but if china will be the champion, the runner up will also qualify for the olympics)
