heres what happens when i hit the gas...

theres a hesitation to go. to accelerate. sometimes when the light turns green Ill let let the clutch out and it will chug....so I have to brining the clutch back in and wait for the revs to climb. Has almost got me rear-ended not to mention makes me look like an idiot. I cant tell if it's feels like a fuel flow problem or something vacuum related. The problem seems to get better as the bike warms up but never completely goes away.

Thoughts?

I ride a 99 Suzuki GS500E

Sounds like fuel.

Either carbs or airbox.
Carbs: need cleaning and maybe re-setting

Airbox: not connected (sealed) to the carb intake.

Carb problem.
Water in the gas.
Throttle slides gummed up from bad gas, preventing them from rising fast enough.
Riped or torn throttle slide diaphragms.
