Gerry, The Daily Mail and Airline Tickets - Which version is correct?

Gerry's Blog Tuesday 24 July 2007:

"Spent the whole day travelling from the Algarve to Washington where I will be visiting the National and International Centers for Missing and Exploited Children and meeting politicians involved in recent legislation on missing children. The flights for our campaign manager and myself were kindly donated by an airline."

Daily Mail, Saturday 28 July 2007:

"Settling into his sleeper bed in Virgin Upper Class (mindful of the sniping about the £946,000 fund for Madeleine, of which £67,000 has been spent, he bought an economy ticket, but was given a complimentary upgrade, the 39-year-old heart consultant was exhausted."

So which is it Gerry? Were the tickets donated or did you pay for them?

Which part of Gerry's blog did you not understand Faith?.... I'll post it again for you:

"The flights for our campaign manager and myself were kindly donated by an airline."

DONATED is the key word here ... not "our tickets were kindly upgraded by the airline"!

Just because you do not want to see the anomaly it does not mean that it isn't there - as plain as day.

And as for why he was visiting the US... well from the reports that I saw he didn't learn anything about Amber Alert, updating techniques or anything else that most of us don't know anyway and that he could have learned just as well via webcam, email, internet searches and telephone ... tools which international businesses use every day of the week. He said himself that he wasn't going to the States because he believed Madeleine to be there.

According to the Fund Manager all the McCanns expenses are paid out of Madeleine's fund. FAITH, I suggest you learn to read, My name is Lindsay Jane, also keep an eye on your Spelling and Grammar.I cannot respect anyone who leaves their defenseless children alone and unprotected ,can you ?

Read it again, Jane, its perfectly clear (if you're not blinkered by spite)...He bought economy tickets but was given a complimentary upgrade by the Airlines. Um...how difficult it that to understand?

And do you think Gerry would be visiting the National & International Centers for Missing & Exploited children if it weren't for his missing Madeleine? No, he wouldn't, just like you & i aren't... So, since its to do with Madeleine, whats the problem if he uses the Fund for it??? Its what its there for...
to spread awareness about his missing Madeleine & to get involved with the cause of other missing children...Its not like hes partying in Las Vegas, for Heaven's sake!
