Because Pippen wasn't as obviously domiante as Shaq was, despite helping the team win just as much. Jordan got ALL the hype as a Bull.
I don't know about Kobe can't win alone, but Kobe definitely can't win another championship alone. He no longer needs Shaq-like help, but needs SOME kind of help.
