Red Jumpsuit Apparatus fans: Curiously...I went to the RJA myspace site and heard both songs and I gotta say..I see what you mean..They're making a difference ...one fan at at time..Some music makes you "smarter " with repeated listenings. I like music that does that.

Now you look like a gigolo in that suit!
I have always loved REM's everybody hurts.
When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone,
When you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on.
Don't let yourself go, everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes.
I love the lyrics, ive never been suicidal but the words just inspire me, when i have been really down its like a friend singing to me. I just think its a beautiful song.

Holidays in the Sun and anything else off the Sex Pistols "Never mind the bollocks". Odd choice maybe but when I hear this album I am reminded that I have lived through amazing times and that not everything fades with age. Holidays in the Sun is still grade A blood boiling pogo mad turbo charged rock n roll. John Lydon sits right at the top of my list of people to have a beer with alongside George Galloway.

I think I'm going to have to go with these;
American Soldier by Toby Keith-I have two brothers who are Marines and at first I had a hard time excepting it but this song really helded me understand that to them its a job and a grate one at that and sense then I have come to find grate pride in the fact that my brothers are Marines.
Face Down-The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus-It gave me hope. Hope that I could get away from all the bad things in my life. Hope that I didn't have to live this way any more. There was a good life and I could have it. I not stuck in this one forever.
Yes, Even Stars Break-The Scene Aesthetic-After my friend committed suicide it was really hard but this song in a wired way got me through. There is one line in the song that to this day has still stuck with me and it goes "look at how I've grown, just see. the burdens you put on us got me to be
what I'm supposed to be." and that he did.

Why do I get the feeling that I either don't belong here, or I'm missing out on something? I hate to admit it, but I really am not into contemporary music, except for (now don't laugh) country-western ballads! Garth Brooks and Toby Keith are my idols! (cough! ) Actually, my very favorite music is (again, please don't laugh or point) classical, as in Chopin and Mozart. Sorry to besmirch the site with my archaic and pedestrian tastes, but I am transported into paroxysms of excitement at the sound of sonatas and etudes. Crescendos give me goose pimples! I will gladly relinquish the ten points, but I couldn't in good conscience pretend to go along with the crowd on this one. Please don't be offended, as I respect those who love what is currently popular, but it just doesn't do much for me. I'm very picky about my music, but I am not a stand-out on other things that are in vogue. And now I'm going to crawl back into the attic, brushing aside the cobwebs.

Overall, the album "Smiley Smile" by the Beach Boys, is a continual source of inspiration and "good vibrations", which is on that record. But in particular, the song "Vegetables", which I sing out loud and to myself every time I'm out workin' in my vegetable garden...which is most every day. Even when moles and rabbits and other varmits steal my vegetables, that song still brings a smile back. I think it's the Beach Boys' greatest album,
yet most of their fans are not familiar with that particular record.

well when i was 16 (in 1989) i lived with my family. they were drug users. and drank a lot. i know i did not want my future to be like that. i had no were else to go. and no one else to live and know i had to go to school. at school a friend asked me if i heard of a band called METALLICA i said no. i went to the store and bought "master of puppets" . I lesson to that tape 24/7. I know that sounds funny, but that band and music changed my life. I did not turn to drugs, or drink. I never touched that stuff in my life. I like my life now thanks to them.

"Carry on my Wayward Son, there'll be peace when you are done. Lay your weary head to rest, dont you cry no more"
one of the best songs ever, and yeah it helped me through a tough time when I didnt know who my real friends were and it also helped me through a breakup (first real breakup, it was worse that I had imagined.)

It was Alanis Morrisette's song. I can't think of the exact title but it went, "and everything's gonna be fine, fine, fine. " One hand in my pocket? I had just gotten arrested (another lifetime ago) and that song touched me and gave me hope that everything would be fine in my life. After paying all my dues, everything was fine. Haven't heard that song in years.
