No.

People (overall, as a generalization) have either given up freedom out of fear and in the name of false security, or they have given up freedom in the name of religious conformity.

We stopped being the land of the free and the home of the brave quite some time ago.... and each year freedom just moves farther and farther from our grasp.

If we yearned for freedom, we wouldn't be giving it away like food at a homeless shelter.

Bush has taken away more rights/privacy away from our country than every president (combined?) ever.

Besides the Patriot Act and his being able to cancel elections (see 1st link below) if he declares a "state of emergency", he just made an executive order outlawing criticizing the war in Iraq (2nd and 3rd link).

Hopefully they'll catch him before he's written into history books that find their way into the hands of highschool students as a "GOOD" president...

Congratulations Bush, you're the biggest TYRANT in the history of the US. Here's a medal: yes that is the Nazi symbol. Fascist.

The majority of Americans are unfortunately uneducated and don't know their rights. Most feel they have freedom and eat up the governments propaganda like McDonald's "freedom fries".

The truth is that this administration has been slowly cutting corners off the constitution until it is now the size of a quarter.

They've even cut out the part that says we as the people have the right to disband the government and re-elect a government that suits the views of its people.

It's sad that this once great nation has now fallen to corruption and greed and is hated around the world.

I'd rather move to Switzerland than protest, get tear gassed, called unpatriotic and shipped to Guantanamo Bay.

There is a whole network out there already formed that are forming new offices, dept's, positions that WE THE PEOPLE are being unrightfully left out of - like the NAU.
Congress for the most part seems to be under this trance ignoring their official duties.
We are slowly seeing our freedom vanish as also the protocol of this country and when we loose it we probably will never get it back. We will be more like puppets or robots.

If you're saying that cameras make us lose our freedom, I don't agree. I don't like it, but it only takes away the freedom of criminals. As long as it only used for that I have nothing against it.

I think those cameras are going to prove integral to maintaining our freedoms and I do not have a problem with them - until they issue me a ticket.

No. This type of surveillance has been used in the UK for years. It was a crucial tool in determining who the London bombers were.

For law abiding citizens it increases our freedom.

I do, but I lost faith in getting it here, I plan to head to another country to retire or not, less people less government have not had a war in 130 years. I'll do my own fighting thanks, always have, I'd rather die that way than as a slave. we fought for this country for 375 years but not like it is today.

Unfortunately we seem to be complacent, unshophisticated, under-educated and dull. Also, the Bush/terrorist rhetoric has frightened so many people that they'd rather give up freedom (AND the Constitution) than behave like our Founding Fathers (willing to die for freedom...).

Remember the old saw, "I'd rather be Red than dead."??? Well now it plays like this: "I'd rather be (mis)led than dead."

You're still free to do anything that's legal.

We just get to watch you do it.
