Not to mention being in the finals twice before Kobe declared for draft, and not to mention being in the playoffs twice after Kobe and getting one ring without Kobe, could Shaq win without Kobe?

Why did Phil Jackson want Kobe traded? If Kobe is so good, why would Phil Jackson just replace him? Is Kobe that replaceable?

And Kobe's career without Shaq? Kobe has won merely 101 games out of 223 total. In Kobe's absence, the Lakers won 15 out of 23 games total. Is Kobe is so replaceable?

On the other hand, without Lamar Odom, the Lakers won 19 out of 46 games. With Odom, the Lakers won 112 out of 200 games. Odom played 23 less games than Kobe did, and won 11 more times than Kobe. What? So Lamar isn't replaceable?

Does that mean Odom is more valuable for the Lakers than Kobe since Kobe is just that replaceable?

Anyone can just start scoring if they get the ball. But players can't generally make impact plays. Kobe is just a pure scorer, albeit not an accurate one. Please explain.

Alpha Wolf, was I ever talking about Jordan? So who's talking about Jordan now? I don't need to know about your filthy, imaginary scenario where you and Jordan go on a camping trip. Keep that to yourself.

Singularity X, did I ever mention Jordan? And did you answer any of the questions?

Stay on topic!

Prashant, you're right. Shaq been in the finals once before Kobe declared for draft and since I'm making corrections, Shaq also been in the playoffs 3 times after Kobe. And to add more information, Shaq has been 3 playoffs before Kobe, and 1 more with Kobe sitting on the bench as a rookie. Shaq has only missed the playoffs once, which is his rookie year, and he also only missed due to a tie breaker against the Indiana Pacers in 1992. And ignoring all these facts, could Shaq win without Kobe?

I love how these Kobe fans just can't answer any question. They can only asks questions about Jordan. But they don't have an answer about their own guy either. What a shame. Are these Kobe fans totally brainless or what?

About Pippen and MJ is easy. Did either of them tell the owner to trade the other player or he's leaving? Nope. Pippen and MJ had team chemistry. Neither of them could win without the other. And neither of them could win without Phil Jackson. The reason the Bull made the playoffs that year without Jordan is the same reason Kobe made the playoffs just twice in 3 years. It's PHIL JACKSON. It has nothing to do with Pippen or Kobe. Jackson could get any okay group of players into the playoffs.

Explain this:
The Bulls were just 34-31 prior to Michael Jordan's return for the final 17 games [in 1995], where MJ led them to a 13-4 record.

TOO EASY!

Lots of Kobe Fanatics here. Well to answer your question, Yeah Shaq could win without Kobe. Shaq understands the value of team chemistry. Look, Penny Hardaway was a star when he teamed up with Shaq, without the Big man his career went nowhere. Then came Shaq to LA land, instant Finals contenders. Shaq brings with him a winning tradition since nobody else in the league can stop him (especially during his LA campaign). Look at the similarity of Orlando and Lakers here after they lose Shaq. Their team's were at lost after losing the BIG MAN. He was thrown over to Miami and won a championship. After the finals everybody was asking him: "How was it possible?" the bigman without blinking an eye said: "When I went here I was thinking of D-Wade.... This is his team." See the difference here the bigman knows what team chemistry is. He is able to accept that he is in the backrole here. Team chemistry is what makes team click and what it makes it champions without Team chemistry you win nothing. NO single player can carry his team by his lonesome ALWAYS take note of that.

And to the answerers who keep raising the Jordan factor, Why raise it? This issue is with Shaq and Kobe. Hope you understand that.

Kobe is interchangeable. 24 year old D-Wade is better than the Kobe of 2000-2002. Combo Shaq with any guard of that caliber and they'll get a championship.

Now, we don't know how interchangeable Shaq is. Maybe we would find out if Amare Stoudemire or Ben Wallace or Dwight Howard went to the Lakers. But I don't think that's going to happen.

Kobe is not useless, but he's interchangeable. Shaq probably couldn't have done it without Kobe, and he definitely couldn't have done it without D-Wade

Well, obviously Shaq CAN win without Kobe because he did it in 2006 with Miami. But I see your point.

Kobe is an incredible talent, but he is NOT a team player. When he isn't in the game, the rest of the team can actually work well together and get a rhythm going. When Kobe is there, they can't because he doesn't give them the ball. Its really quite simple... and that's why the Lakers have been on the decline recently.

This may sound rhetorical but didn't Shaq win in Miami...or am I simply missing something. Oh well...I guess Shaq winning a ring when he is arguably past his prime irrelevant when compared to Kobe's ball hoggin' 35 pints a game.

He already did..in Miami, and told them he will.

Kobe on the other hand said we will try and make the playoffs.

Big difference in goals.
