A couple of old friends and I play games through the night. Our latest obsession is the Youtube game, but we have a personalized version. We each chose a song that signifies an event, a place, a time and 2 other people who were also there. Then we try to guess each others by the clues in the songs. I am winning 23 to 12 to 7. This is only because as the night goes on they steadily more drunk and give me really easy clues.
So I listen to anything I am sent. The Youtube game drives us all craaaaazzzzzzzyyyyy. No wonder I can't sleep. Lol.

Symphonic Metal mainly Within Temptation, Delain with some For Selena and Sin. Whyzdom in some occasions. And yes I wake up and stay awake for a while when the music suddenly gets loud but don't fall off the bed. No, I usually want dead silence when I read a book or study. When the environment gets annoyingly loud I opt for piano pieces. 10/10. Thank you for the lyrics! Still playing this game actually! I also like Shall Never Surrender and have the lyrics too. I don't listen to music when I can't sleep. Music I like I can't ignore, and music I don't like sets my teeth on edge. So when I can't sleep I just dawdle through memories, go again on great sailing trips I've enjoyed, or ride horses again, etc. Or if I want to go to sleep, I listen to the BBC world broadcasts, or some intelligent program on the Australian national station (ABC) - knowing that as soon as something really interests me I'll probably go to sleep anyway!

I like selected works from "Steely Dan" in the wee morning hours and some songs from the "Cure" are good too. "E.L.O." is pleasant when I'm in the grasp of insomnia but I suppose my favorite would be "Pachelbel Canon", the edition that has Sea shore sounds over dubbed into the composition. Sleep well, rise joyfully!

Ah! The rare times when I can't sleep. . . I like to listen to silence, usually. I don't get that very often (3 kids. . .) But, if there is music to listen to, it really depends on my mood. I enjoy soothing music, of course, to relax me. I don't like to listen to music to make me fall asleep, it gives me weird dreams. Same thing happens if I fall asleep with the TV on. I dream what I hear and that can bad.
