Smoking marijuana can relax a person and elevate their mood. This can be followed by drowsiness and sedation. Other effects include heightened sensory awareness, euphoria, altered perceptions and feeling hungry ("the munchies"). High concentrations of THC may produce a more hallucinogenic response.
Some people smoke it because they become addicted to it.
No one would argue that marijuana is as addictive as alcohol or cocaine. However, it's wrong to say that it is not at all addictive. More and more studies are finding that marijuana has addictive properties. Both animal and human studies show physical and psychological withdrawal symptoms from marijuana, including irritability, restlessness, insomnia, nausea and intense dreams. Tolerance to marijuana also builds up rapidly. Heavy users need 8 times higher doses to get the same effects as infrequent users.
For a small percentage of people who use it, marijuana can be highly addictive. It is estimated that 10% to 14% of users will become heavily dependent. More than 120,000 people in the US seek treatment for marijuana addiction every year. Because the consequences of marijuana use can be subtle and insidious, it is more difficult to recognize signs of addiction. Cultural and societal beliefs that marijuana cannot be addictive make it less likely for people to seek help or to get support for quitting.

I am unfamiliar with 'wead'. Is this some type of tobacco? Surely it's not 'weed' is it? People smoke the latter to catch a buzz I'm told. Perhaps you have caught the entire hive...

Weed makes you forget about things it is an escape from reality and a lot of people don't want to accept reality that's why they smoke weed. Weed numbs your thoughts, feelings, and emotions-some people don't like dealing with these things that's why they smoke weed. Some people smoke weed because they're addicted to it-they're just not aware of it. Weed distorts the mind and causes all kind of physical and mental problems i suggest stay away.

So they don't have to face the real world. The people I have known over the years, used weed to not face their problems. They don't like their lives and usually they have no ambition. Some people use it because it makes the music sound nicer or sex better. The majority use it as an escape.

because it's very relaxing and for ill people, it often is a gentle stimulant. it pacifies muscles and relieves pain. for people who are very ill to the point of it effecting their eating (usually nausea)...it very gently relieves nausea and stimulates the appetite.
for people who are not ill, it can be an enjoyable thing to do. it makes one hear with more depth and creates a soft tingle all over the body, making music very enjoyable. it is not in any way a hallucinogenic or a hard drug. it is also not in any way physically addictive. it is only mildly psychologically addictive for some people (who are generally already predisposed to laziness). it is a lesser vice than tobacco or alcohol, literally probably the least damaging illicit substance available or around. remember that vices are not crimes, and especially not for responsible citizens.

Because it calms their nerves, and makes them feel peaceful. Just think of alcohol, and thing of the exact opposite feeling. You don't want to fight, you don't want to get rowdy, just relax, laugh, talk, and listen to good music. It just got legalized in Canada, btw. In fact, I am about to go smoke right now.

I think maybe you should stop smoking weed before your spelling gets any worse.
edit* AmericanPatriot -- I am liberal and I have never smoked weed. I have never touched weed. I also know more republicans who smoke weed than democrats, so stop stereotyping before you become one yourself.
