its been a 4yr relationship just curius if it is illegal or if she has the right to be with someone who is older than her while she is a minor.

She is still under her parents' control until the age of 18. A 21 year old and a 17 year old dating is no problem legally. Besides, the Age of Consent in Michigan is 16.

Just dating is perfectly legal. Having sex when she is under the age of consent is illegal.

As long as you aren't having sex....you can hang out with anybody you want
you can "date" regardless of any age..you need to find out the age of consent there
