I checked out a tune (the bottom one, I've already forgotten the name..sorry, I'm kind of a space cadet) and it's pretty cool. I like them. Really nice vibe to it.

for me, in Ventura, CA there are a few pretty awesome local groups. The most notable is called Franklin For Short (link below). They are in the process of making a record that is going to be really great, really great. They put on a really great show too. They just have a sort of schmarmy sort of a presence that is a lot of fun. The songs play out really good live too.

and a solo project, from their bass player (particularly the song Born Down By A Side)

Once upon a time we had Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Stabbing Westward, Ministry and several other cool bands from the WaxTrax days. Here is what it has come down to now:

Plain White T's
Disturbed
FOB
The Academy Is...

It's enough to make a guy want to move!
OK, just listened to ANC. Not bad, sort of like the NYC version of 311.

Modest Mouse. Sadly I've lost touch with a lot of the local bands here so I should fix that.

A.N.C. - sounds pretty tight. Makes me think about all the great local music I'm missing out on in other states.
