December 8, 1941 they declared war on Japan to officially join the war. I think it was 3-4 more days before declaring war on Germany.
The Japanese bombed our Naval base at Pearl Harbor on the 7th, which led to the war declaration. They also at the same time invaded the Phillipines which was a US territory at the time.

The Congress of the United States declared war on Japan on December 8th, 1941, because Japan had bombed Pearl Harbor the day before.
Germany was an ally of Japan, and declared war on the US

How time flies. The United States declared war on Japan on Dec 8 1941, a day after the Pearl Harbor Bombing. Germany then declared war on the US, followed by Italy (big cringe).

Seems 2 b basic history 4 me. That took place on December 7, 1941 because Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, HI. If u wish 2 c a motion picture based on it, I'd prefer "Tora Tora Tora" over "Pearl Harbor." But that's just me. Again, the day of infamy was 12/7/1941.

We officially declared war on Japan on Dec 8, 1941 during the president's speech where he said "December 7th, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy."
We had been involved in the war in indirect ways before that, however...
We joined the war officially because Japan attacked us on our own soil at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Japan and Germany were allies so when we declared war on Japan we also declared war on Germany because of a treaty they had together. (That is, Germany declared war on us...)
Some people think that there was a conspiracy to start the war...check out some of the links at the bottom of the website I gave you.

before America joined world war 2 many Americans joined the British air force did any join the German army? Yes it did happen. I read about one. I think virtually all of them were born in Italy or Germany or were second generation.
