Change the style of headers..ones that are further away from the block. You can remover passenger side fender well or switch back to stock manifolds or shorty headers.

change it ,get one of the smaller ones ,the high torque starters are ideal for headers, their expensive, but you wont have any problems getting it started when its hot i bought mine for around 200,and its been really good, there really small ,and this helps keep them away from the headers also, they work ,advance has them for around 200 and to me it was worth it,good luck on it.,,PS I'm running 10.5 to 1 compression ratio and i have no problems turning the engine over cold or hot.

With the header tape and the heat shield, I don't know what else you could do other than reroute the headers. good luck.

If by overheating you mean it wont turn over when it's hot you can wire in a Ford starter relay to solve the problem.
