Limewire's a pretty popular program for finding music as well as many of other types of files. The free demo doesn't work nearly as good as the full version does though.

There are a lot of alternatives, such as Ares & Morpheus. Limewire is definately one of the most popular, though. Personally, I prefer to use torrents (small reference files that let you download multiple files). Torrents tend to be safer than the standard peer-to-peer files found on Limewire. These are apparently supported in the newer version of Limewire. A good place to find these is http://www.torrent-finder.com.

I personally prefer a free program called Bitlord. It boasts fairly high download speeds and bug free performance. Limewire, on the other hand, has a history of slightly slower speeds and more bugs. Unlike Limewire, Bitlord doesn't have a p2p network, which means Limewire has a larger selection of files.

All in all, Limewire is still a good, functional, virus-free program that's probably worth a try. You might want to look into the alternatives, too though.

Instead of Limewire which has a risk of virus and legal problems (not proven either way), try Y! Music Unlimited, a music player directly from your Yahoo! account. Just go to the site below and from "Downloads," click Y! Music Unlimited. It has a mild fee, but they allow a free trial and there's no viruses.

nicely there is probably no longer an sturdy source for unfastened track downloads, it quite is maximum possibly unlawful by using fact the artist won't gets a commission for their artwork. in case you like the artist/track you ought to purchase it to coach the artist help. additionally, stay removed from P2P courses like Limewire. there are various viruses on there and the RIAA has filed circumstances against 1000's of people who downloaded track on the community.

I used to use limewire until someone told me about Utorrent.com. Its similiar to limewire but doesn't have any bugs or viruses in it. Its a little more complicated than limewire but its really worth it. Your able to download anything you want, even full albums.
