Procreation certainly is a big reason for sex. That appears to be a biological fact. However, I would not say that it is the only reason for sexual intercourse. But it seems dangerous to completely detach procreation from sex. Just being reckless about why and with whom one has sex is possibly a bad idea. What do you think?

The simple fact is that procreation is a Big Deal, and making sex pleasurable is a way to entice animals (including us humans) into doing it. There are several other species of animals, like dolphins and bonobo monkeys, who have sex purely for recreational purposes, including homosexual sex and sex when the female is not fertile.

Personally, I see no problem with separating sex from procreation. As long as both parties are mature and willing to accept the consequences, consenting adults should be free to have sex for pleasure. And let's face it, people are going to have sex regardless of what ANY authority says (gov't or church), so the best thing is to educate them on safe sex, and oh yeah let's not go banning any form of birth control.

People are smart. Give them the information, and they will be better prepared to make responsible, informed choices regarding their sexual practices. This will reduce the incidences of both STD's (including HIV), and unwanted pregnancies. Without a doubt, the data show this to be true.

You can't detach sex from procreation permanately unless you sterilize yourself.

I think having sex with another person is a powerful way of connecting and demonstrating love, as well as just feeling good. But sex shouldn't just be thrown around-that is too dangerous.

I think use protection unless both people involved want a baby!

Actually sex desire is based on the illusory energy (Maya) though it may seem natural in this world it is supposed to be for procreation. Those who are addicted to sex on any level, at the time of death if they still have that desire, they will then take another birth in the material world again. If sex and procreation were separated, you could possibly count on one hand the number of people that would be on the planet.

Your wish is my command. If you are sure this is what you want, go out and donate the price of a good meal to a homeless person. As soon as you accomplish this, your wish will be realized. Anything else?
