You have to remove yourself from the idea of "cool kids." It is irrelevant in college, and in life. What is important is people you like, whom you care for, and who care for you. Common interests and lifestyle are more important.

If a person has a hygiene issue, they need to address it, though. People don't want to hang with the smelly guy. Otherwise, in college you make friends with people that are like you. Don't get hung up on the jock nonsense, it isn't important.

Most colleges seem to permit a little more latitude in terms of who is socially acceptable than do most high schools. Of course, if the individual is unpleasant or seriously disturbed, they are likely still to have trouble meeting people, but I would guess that at all but the smallest colleges, people have trouble identifying who the "popular people" would be. You just meet people with whom you can get along and share interests.

not nessisarily. ill speak from my perspective. in college, someone who had trouble socailly in highschool, could very well be better socailly. my reasoning is this

students in highschool are judemental and ver immature,
this is why a lot of ppl who arent good socially have trouble, becuase the everyday highschooler has no patience and is closed minded to people who are "different". this changes in college.

also, theres so much more variety of student body in colleges usually, so that makes it more likley a loser would be better in college...

however, someone who is a loser or is bad socially, if they have no longing to become better socially, they probably wont ....you have to make a little effort

usually the nerds and geeks are the ones that succeed later on in life and some even become millionares. While the popular kids are at more of a risk for failure. If I could do things differently I would have never hung out with the cool kids and should have hung out with the geeks atleast they have goals and direction in life.

No. In college, you find your niche. You'll meet a lot of people that are just like you, whether you're "cool" or not. Also, people learn to become a lot more accepting at the college age. Most people grow up and learn to make friends with anybody.
