If you consider the big question of the day, which is the Western World isn't pro-creating at a sustainable level, and yet radical islam is having babies at levels higher than 5 per family. The combination is a major mistake for the West. Conflict at a significant level is definitely on track for our lifetime.
Secondly, the entire planet is making a horrible monster in Red China. It's decadent Western Greed that is enabling China to buy and build advanced weapons, coupled with over 80 million people in their military.
We'll make it. But I am sure we're headed for some turbulent times.

the end beign near, hmmm. I hope I can live at least some 50 years or so

Eventually. But the race has survived some million years using intelligence to overcome obstacles, and there is no reason to suppose that it won't continue to do so as long as the earth remains habitable.
