No, not with your problems with overpopulation and grinding poverty. To be a superpower you need virtually unlimited wealth - it's the only thing keeping the US going.

Forget the nuclear weapons and the army, India will be great because they are building a democratic model for multi-ethnic states to emulate, while using the high tech industries to allow even more rapid growth for the rest of the population due, in large part, to the work ethic of the Indian people. As more effective seed types for arid soils become common, India will continue to grow its agricultural production for domestic use while its stress on English language classes for students will pay huge dividends in the global business world.

India is superpowered by brains. She does not require to become super power. This is a clause introduced by those playing on the surface. The best option for india is to save humanity from destruction which is going unbated in the front because of the so called scientifically and materialistically self empowered brains.

They will become a superpower in the world one day, but most likely it will not be a military power. India's economy and China's economies are starting to grow like crazy with thousands of people investing in India, creating a lot of new jobs. India will one day compete with China for the world's best economy. I believe the U.S. will remain too far ahead in technology though, and India will not become too much of a military superpower, but this changes with money and the ability to support a large military.

India should concentrate more on providing basic infrastructure to its poor than being a superpower.

The United States did not become a superpower by military might alone, it became so because people wanted to live their because it provide a good life for those who put forth the effort.

As long as one third of the country is illiterate it will never be a superpower.

Why should you have a doubt. India will certainly be a superpower one day because India has the talent and moving in the right direction. Only problem is that this movement is very slow due to the politicians but the D day will certainly come one day.

Is has the potential to be one. Once we get rid of minoritism and the moment majority starts asserting it self, India will be reckoned as super power by western parameters also.
