I jsut noticed it a couple days ago. Just past my elbow in the direction of my shoulder is a spot of skin that is numb to the touch. But if I poke it or move my arm too quickly it aches. I haven't hit my arm on anything or gotten cut on anything but it's really wierd and I don't like it. Medical advice would be most appreciated.

That is the nerve canal and it is possible you have leaned on your elbow too much and have caused the nerve to inflame. rest your arm on a pad or pillow or something soft but kind of firm. so there is no pressure on the elbow

I use one of those things for your hands so you dont get carpel tunnel while typing on the keybord.. I had this a few months ago

well, complete numbness means nerve damage. so if you have ever cut your elbow there or had surgery, that could explain nerve damage to a small portion of your skin.

there is a major nerve that runs down your arm. if it was completely damaged you wouldn't be able to move your hand, etc. but my point is, there are some portions of the nerve that are close to your skin. so, if you had bumped it (where your "funny bone" is) you would feel it, and it could result in soreness when you move your arm too quickly. i've injured my elbow in my sleep before--crazy.

it doesn't sound like anything urgent. just mention it to your doctor the next time you go.

your ulnar nerve runs through there. you may be having some type of neuropathy (nerve related pain/numbness/burning/tingling). were you laying/leaning on your elbows a lot recently? i'd give it a bit of time, then if it doesn't go away you may want to see the doc.
