I am currently on Yaz for about the last 6 months and am wondering if the way I'm feeling is because of it. I have been on bc pills for over 12 yrs and I have never felt so depressed. I also am spotting all the time. My moods are becoming unbearable for me and my husband and my lebido is zilch!!! I like sex and intimacy and right now nothing turns me on. My dr was going to switch me to Ortho Tricyclen Lo and I'm wondering if that will have the same effect. I never had these symptoms until about two months ago. I hope someone has an answer for me!

I tried the Yasmin (the one that came out before Yaz) and had a hard time adjusting to it the first week because of mood issues for a few days and other reasons. Then after 6 months I couldn't stay on it anymore because I was having problems with bleeding.

About 5 years ago I wanted to try the predecessor to Ortho-Tricyclen Lo so asked my doctor her thoughts on it and she said no. The biggest reason was because of the fact that it would cause me to have more problems with bleeding when I did it.

As for whether or not you will have the same problems that you have on the Yaz that's hard to say. I would recommend asking the doctor a ton more questions to see what they say.
