Actually that is one large volume with ten books inside it by Roger Zelazney. Yes, I have read them all. It is fantastic. The finest fantasy series I have ever read. They get better as they go on and Merlin enters the picture. Although my favorite prince is Prince Corwin. Anyone who has finished Harry Potter and wants to grow up a bit as far as their reading goes - this is your series! However, Zelazney died without finishing it. The person who now writes them is nowhere near as good. I think there are three more books after the ten by Zelazney. Pax -C

The first Chronicles of Amber are a set of five books
Nine Princes in Amber
The Guns of Avalon
The Sign of the Unicorn
The Hand of Oberon
The Courts of Chaos

The first set of five are a different and very well-done fantasy series. Sword and sorcery but with a link to "our" world.
I first read these as they originally came out, have worn out a set of them, and still keep a set.

The Second Chronicles of Amber feature a different chief protagonist.
Trumps of Doom
Blood of Amber
Sign of Chaos
Knight of Shadows
Prince of Chaos
They are widely regarded as being of much poorer quality than the first series. I concur.
This happens so often. Good authors pushed by fans, editors or contracts to write more than they should?
Eddings did it with the Belgariad, for example.

I'd highly recommend the first set, but not the second. That should be read at your discretion, for completeness or to check your opinion against others, or because you've become addicted to Zelazny.

And there's plenty of other superb stuff of his out there, in a variety of styles and moods.
I read his lighthearted fantasy gothic horror romp (yes, all of that) "A Night in the Lonesome October" every October: a chapter a day, as it is set out.
