Yahoo answers respect?

Question

Mkay, so you ask a question and get answers, maybe 50% give you good answers, the other 50% say pretty much WHAT you asked in the question..
And then you ask a question with a general curiosity and people convince themselves you're actually talking about yourself, not someone else, and act like you are an idiot?
Im not complaining, i've had plenty of great answers, just respect is so low, and people are answering questions to get "2 points, thanks" .. Points wont do anything for you..
I've been here to see the changes.
Right now i know, if people answer, there will be PLENTY of what i just wrote about.
You dont have to answer, i'm just letting you all know :)
Where's honest, informative, respectful answers gone? ♥

I do understand what you are saying and agree.
When I first joins Y/A, I came here looking for advice and in the beginning I was treated pretty well, answer wise.
But I always had the feeling that some people when answering may think that I am an idiot because I didn't know the answer. They some what felt superior to the questioner.
I see that all the time.
I probably come off that way sometimes myself.
I don't mean it to come across that way.
I enjoy answering questions, if I can help someone.
It makes me feel good. Plus I always learn something myself along the way.

I totally agree with you. I am frustrated with the people who just comment to get two points, the stupid answers, the racist comments, and the voting system where sometimes the dumbest answer gets voted the best answer.

Unfortunately, whenever you have something as free and open like Y/A you will get the idiots who want to ruin the party. Some act like idiots on purpose, some don't know that they are idiots.

I feel that if you want to have meaningfull discussion and exchange of ideas then find some smart friends and just have a real life conversation.

Yahoo Answers is not the answer for anyone's questions.

Well, when you ask a question, you're going to get your fair share of honest, informative answers, you will also get idiotic answers and jokes. Everybody treats this website differently, so you have to take the good, bad and ugly.

What you've said is true. Unfortunately, there are quite a few people here who enjoy being rude and immature. The fact is, we've got to accept that fact and appreciate those who behave like reasonable people. Try to not let the others ruin it for you. There really are a lot of good, intellegent people here.
