a is the correct answer.

The equator is at 0 latitude, and all measurements of latitude reference that level (ten degrees north = ten degrees north of the equator.

The earth's axis is parallel to all longitudinal lines
The Prine Meridian is at 0 longitude
The International Date Line is at 180 degrees east or west longitude (except for deviations to avoid land and country boundaries).

None ; Equator is used as a reference to denote the latitude of a place and not as a measurement of latitude .The equator itself is a latitude(zero latitude).

The answer is "A" because latitude goes around the globe just like the equator. LONGitude goes up and around (a "long" way to go! lol)
