An older wiser person once told me people who talk to themselves or at inanimate objects are borderline nuts.

It does not necessarily means one is nuts, but all of us have talked out loud and heard ourselves. When someone else hears you and see you are not directly talking to someone, yes they think you are crazy. Back in the day when one did this , they will tell you, just do not answer yourself, cause indeed you are crazy. So it ends like this that wise person told you the truth of what was told to her also.

No, you're only nuts if you answer your own questions. I talk to myself all the time, well then again I have 3 little kids so sometimes I do feel like I'm going nuts.LOL

I do. They're not 'borderline nuts'. Generally people do this when they are multitasking in some way, thinking out loud helps them keep focused on what they are doing.

Yes i do it, im pretty sure its normal. Like when im upset or hurt myself when im alone i curse out loud. Just today I was watching a scary movie alone and talking to myself saying, " this is not scary at all," and "that's hysterical" and stuff. Also at night in bed I might ramble on to myself when im upset about something or confused about some issue, its almost like a dialogue, but its not as crazy as it sounds.

Sometimes I have interesting conversations with myself. One important thing about talking to yourself: you never disagree with yourself! :D
