The Bulls are my pick to win the East.
The Pistons are always contenders and honestly the only team that could beat the Bulls in a playoff series.
The Bulls aren't up and coming. They've been up and coming the past three seasons. The Bulls are seasoned and deep.

Now that Vince Carter has been resigned by the NJ Nets they will be serious competition especially when you add Kidd and Jefferson. You always have to consider the Miami Heat as well when talking about the East. The Sleeper team in the east could be the Celtics with there recent addition of Ray Allen.

The unpopular yet appropriate answer on your question is that the Bulls roster as presently built, is sturdy for related to the 0.33 suitable usual season checklist interior the east and a 2d around go out interior the playoffs - that's clearly an progression yet no longer a championship. The favorites interior the east are Miami and Boston. considered one of those 2 would be taking part in the Lakers interior the finals.

Boston (after getting KG, the Celts find themselves at the top of the food chain)
Detroit (after resigning Chauncey Billups, the Piston retain some of their firepower and ensure themselves as still being one of the top teams in the East)
Cleveland (the Cavs are riding on a high note after making it to the finals last season so there is no reason, their momentum will not continue into this season)
Miami Heat (don't count the old guys out of it yet because Shaq and D-Wade is still a dangerous tandem and will be the driven force for the Heat to reclaim their crown)
Orlando (for a team that made the playoffs and now they add an All-Star caliber player in Rashard Lewis, this should make them an even more potent team as Lewis outside shooting should complement Dwight Howard's inside scoring)
New York (if the Marbury, Curry, and Randolph experiment somehow manages to click, you could be looking at a very physical Knicks team who thrives in the halfcourt system)
Atlanta (this team could surprise some folks this season with the presence of All-Star Joe Johnson, the development of Josh Smith, and the addition of Al Horford)
Toronto (the Raptors could make some noise this season especially after Colangelo revamped the roster and drafted Andrea Bargnani to complement Chris Bosh. Next season, we'll get a better idea of where they stand)

Big threats would be Orlando, Miami, Detroit and Cleveland. I don't see the Nets, Wizards and Raptors ruining the picture for the Bulls. Take it this way Orlando really boosted their line-up with their new acquisitions, Miami is still there, Detroit is the constant thing and Cleveland wants to still hold the title of Eastern Champions. So there only those four teams would be threats to this up and coming team.

Additional: Boston, now have KG so have to add Boston to the list.

Uh, don't you mean "Who will the Bulls callenge for the East"?
Cavs, Pistons, Heat, Nets, and Raptors are all in the mix. Cavs will win it, James is better than all else.
