There is no if, he will break the record. When he does, in my opinion it doesnt matter. Hank will always be king

I honest do not care if he does or does not get caught...I have already proven him guilty and so has most of the general public. Look at his body on the pirates, and then take a look now i smell juuuuice hank will always be king he was and still is a class act in the game of baseball. Barry is a jerk..flat out he doesnt deserve the record sure... you have to be a good hitter in the first place...like if i took steriods i couldnt his mlb distance home runs constantly..so obviously the guy has talent. I just feel that the roids gave him the extra boost. Honestly, without the juice i see him as a 400 - 500 career homer guy at the most.

Barry Bonds will never be known as the home run king because he cheated his way there. look at the pictures on google and look how skinny he was. look at him now. he's at least gained over a 100 lbs. Hank Aaron didn't cheat, he did it the actual way by not taking steroids. Barry Bonds will never ever become home run king. he'll be the leader but he wont be an actual true one.

Steroids have been around for a long time. As much as I hate the doosh bag, I have to say that he would be Home Run king.

There have been confirmed reports from old baseball players that less refined steroids were used in the 50's-60's. So now what, no one is king? Babe Ruth again?

For one,it is no doubt he will break the record before the season is out. When he does he should not be cosidered the home run king because it is ver obvious that he took steriods. I personally think he took steriods before the season that he broke Mark's record (73 home runs in a season) because you dont go from hitting 30-40 home runs to hitting 73 to hitting 20. There is one person in baseball that should be considered the home run king and his name is Hank Aaron. Even if Alex Rodriguez breaks the record i would still call hank the homerun king.

I'm waiting -- it's inevitable, really -- for a Joe Jackson supporter (curious how these folk never bother arguing for the other seven Black Sox, except Weaver on rare occasions) to point out that
(a) Jackson was such a dope he didn't know what was going on (hogwash, but always popular -- let's support Jackson by insinuating he was a moron!), AND
(b) Jackson's play in the 1919 World Series was on the up-and-up (difficult to prove either way, it was only eight games, but he clearly batted MUCH better in the four honest games than in the four thrown games -- a distinction most supporters prefer to ignore, as simply pointing to his aggregate stats looks better for Jackson), AND

...here's the kicker, the one I wanna see put forward...

(c) therefore the results of the 1919 World Series should be overturned and the championship retroactively awarded to the Chicago White Sox.

Now THAT would be funny. Pathetic, but funny.

MLB changes the historical records for one reason and one reason only, that being, clerical error.

There are no clerical errors in the records of Bonds' career.

It depends on the generation all the witnesses that saw hank, will always remember him as the king, but thijs generation will remember bonds day by day critism and accustaions of using steriods despite that he still broke the record. But to people that experienced both, they will remember Hank more cause Aaron's had more of a purpose and somewhat even more pressure all the racism he had to deal with was nothing compared to what bonds had to handle, he broke the barriers of a white man sport on that day.

Congratulations! (Ding, ding, ding!)

This is the 1,000,000th time this question has been asked!

Don Pardo, tell him what he's won.....

In all seriousness, IF Bonds is found to have used steroids AT A TIME WHEN THEY WERE BANNED IN MLB, then, no, he should not be recognized as the home run king. Until then, it is nothing but speculation and, like it or not, he will break the record and be recognized.

Yes Barry Bonds will be the Home Run King no matter what he did. Even at his age he is still hitting long balls at his age. If he is found Guilty of Steroids then I would still call him the Home Run King.

No, not even for a second. Hank Aaron did it without steroids, he accomplished that goal on pure talent, not performance enhancing drugs. Personally I can't wait for A-Rod to destroy Barry's record in a few years.
