for me its as short as possible
cuz like u know ppl from every where asking questions almost every min. or sec and even if u wait no one is gonna see your question...
so yeah how long does it take you guys to choose a best answer?

I usually wait one day and then pick a best answer - unless I'm online a lot that day and notice that I haven't gotten any new answers for a while - then I might go ahead and choose one if there is one that really sticks out already.

After the question has been posted for 24 hrs, then it takes me about 10 minutes (average) to pick a Best answer.

I haven't asked many questions, but I do pick a best answer when I get the e-mail that I only have a few hours left.

About a minute. It's easy to eliminate the SPAM or the stupid answers, then eliminate the smart-butt answers and then pick out of the ones that make sense/ had thought into and smart. That or pick the first answer that answered my question.

I really haven't asked a lot of questions. For those that I have, I wait the regulation four hours (or longer) and then decide.

I restrict myself to answering.From the unending list of questions popping up I feel that people have problem. I do not wish to burden them with mine.So no question of choosing the Best Answers. On the other hand many of my answers have been selected as Best Answers. I think people are more kind .

I give it about 24 hours. I give my contacts time to answer. I have some that are like me that have the questions e-mailed...so when they are on again they have the opportunity to answer if they choose to.

You have to wait 4 hours before you pick a best answer.
And then, I consider each answer carefully.
