You won't be disappointed with The Green Mile. Also, Stephen King also has an amazing talent for writing stories that aren't strickly horror related.
There is great a collection of 4 novellas called Different season - three of which have been make into excellent films. Apt pupil, The Shawshank Redemption, and Stand by Me have all been based on the stories in this book. Amazon has it for 8 bucks. Enjoy!!

kind of a stephen king freak so here's some really good ones.
Rose Madder-a woman with an abusive husband get help from her alternate self in a painting she found in a thrift store.
Gerald's Game-a woman and her husband are playing handcuff games in a secluded cabin, he dies and leaves her handcuffed to the bed.
Four Past Midnight-short stories all really good.
Christine-just like the movie, guy gets obsessed with his living car.
Cujo-rabid dog terrorizes woman and her son
Different seasons-more short stories
Deamcatcher-friends in a cabin try to stop aliens from invading earth. sound really sci fi but is more horror and the movie is excellent.
Everything's Eventual-short stories that make you scared and then make you think.
Graveyard shift-even more short stories.
It-freaking scary clown kills people. movie still give me nightmares.
The Langogliers-people on a plane get caught in an alternate dimension and have to get home. Good movie also.
Misery-obsessed reader kidnaps writer when she finds him on the side of the road. makes him write her the next book in his series.
Needful Things-the devil opens a curio shop in a small town. Good movie.
Pet Semetary-when people are buried in the pet cemetary they come back changed. Scary movie, ayuh.

IT is very long.
I like some of his lesser known books. Look online for the Bachman books. He wrote them under a psudenem because he was writing so much. One story is VERY contirvercial. He regrets writing it. Check it out!
