Well, raccoons are scavengers, so that means they eat anything they can get a hold of, but I think most of the time they go for things other than dead animals.

Normallly fruits and vegetables but they will also eat birds, mice, fish and crayfish. They might eat a freshly killed animal. I doubt they would eat something that has been dead long enough to smell.

raccoons are scavengers, if there is no other food source available they will eat carrion (dead animals)

If they absolutely have to to survive but they wont eat rancid meat. they would prefer bugs if the season permits. But a good mouse when available works just fine.

I doubt it. Why? I know that they are omnivors (which means that they eat meat and plants), so I am not sure. I really do doubt it though.

No they don't they will eat cat food if it is left outside.
