depends. If they have moved up, then good for them (from cashier to manager) but if stayed in the same postion, then its not a great job for that person.

Many people get their start at a McDonalds. I think someone that has worked at a job for ten years shows a very good word ethic. Remember it doesn't matter where you work, any job that you take in life do it to the fullest extent. I'm sure you are a real asset to the Mc Donalds coporation. They do a lot of things wonderful things for children and their families and the things you have learned working there will be very useful in you life. If someday you choose to find another type of employment it's going to look very impressive that you stayed with a company for so long. It's a win win situation.

First off, all managers at McDonald's don't make salary. I've worked at one for at least 7 years, I'm a manager and make an hourly wage. Anyway's it's a great job and for now I'm lovin it. Though I'm also going to school to better able to support my family. If your ok working there that's great. They offer great benefits. Flexible scheduling is awesome, though the food after a while gets old. Anyways there is nothing wrong with working there. There are so many people who really need a job but cannot find one anywhere.

Other than handicapped people, I believe long-time workers are people who are afraid to apply for better paying jobs. Ten years at McDonalds could have been the 10 years between ages 18 and 28, which should have been the best 10 years of most people's lives. I wouldn't have wanted to spend my 20s slopping frozen hamburgers!

Someone with honour and integrity. I was just thinking about this the other day while having breakfast at a diner. I've been fortunate enough to get an education, a good job, the know-how to get money through other means (legally), but when I saw the waitresses and short-order fry cooks making minimum wage who were also old enough to be my parents....it made me think. Those are the people who have to claw through life just to make an honest living (while making someone else rich, by the way) and not complain about it. I think that'll astound me until the day I die...

At least they WORK! How many people can say that they have held the same job for 10 years? I'd be impressed. McDonald's is actually a fast paced and stressful job. Surely, by now, the person is in management. Good for them.

A job is a job. At least they are trying and able to hold down a job. McDonalds, Office work, or CEO; they are trying. Some people like those sort of jobs. I have worked at coffee shops and enjoy the interaction with people in a fun environment. If they can afford to make what they are making at that job, I say GREAT FOR THEY.

Sounds like one of my neighbors. After her husband died, her pension left her short of cash and unable to make the house payments. She took a job at McDonald's. I think she's been there 7 or 8 years. And the best part is that she has been able to stay in her house. So, I think someone who makes a career at working for McDonald's should be applauded.

I think there is nothing wrong with working at Macca's. As long as you enjoy working there.
There are some real great skills that you learn and meeting interesting people. Plus you can move around and live anywhere and still work.
I used to work a McDonald's when i was younger - and i thought is was great, still listed my resume

There are all kinds of jobs that aren't glamorous, but necessary. Anyone who works at one job for ten years should be applauded. Perhaps this person enjoys the job and finds it rewarding. What's wrong with that? Nothing!!! If, on the other hand, the person hates the job- well, then, ten years is too long...

If he or she feels happy to work there, that means they're having some great time there. If they dont they dont understand what r they working and not loyal to their boss. If that is u, break a leg.
And don't forget to put this question to vote cuz there is alot of great answers. Trust me u don't want to put the wrong best answer. The voters will give the best answer for u. Have a great summer.
