Own a 1992 S-10 blazer 4.3L Vorec. It started by running rough, then stalling. after awhile it would start again, then run rough, then die. Now, it won't start at all. Battery/starter works.Ignition system and fuel system both work fine-why won't it start?

The fact that it misbehaved before it finally stopped can be an indication of a lot of things? Did any warning lights came on when it was still running? Did you maybe smell something odd? Was it heavier on gas than normal? Was it maybe smoking? Was the engine running hotter on the gauge or not? When you try to start it does it sound like normal or is there some noise?
Maybe the timing, ignition or valve timing went out. Timing belt or chain slipped. This will first cause bad running untill it is too far out for the engine to run.

Get it scanned for codes first,if no codes present check fuel pressure, and compression,if the compression is low but even you probably have a timing chain problem, also these engines have a problem with there distributors the shaft bushing's wear out and the reluctor and stator ring contact each other causing a no start.
Hope the info is of some help.

Take the distributor cap off and have someone crank the engine. If the rotor does not spin then the camshaft timing gear is stripped and you will not run.

You'll need to replace the timing set and then it'll run like a champ.

Good Luck!
