I have found many cavaliers that I could buy but thay have 94,000 to 100,000 miles on them. I want to know if I can depend on them for 3 to 4 years or so from now. Please help. I could use it. Thanks

the car is only as good as it has been maintained i have seen cavaliers come in for routine maintenance with 300,000+ miles on them and still be running as good as new but for the most part dependability ratings are great on these cars

I had a 91 Chevy cavalier and it had 220K on it when I got it. I put another 50K on it, and then gave it to my cousin when I bought an S-10. My cousin went on to put another 25K on it, then was in an accident. It was close to 300K miles at that point, but ran very good. The only problem either of us had with it was the starter. The starter was replaced 5 times, and the battery twice. I'm sure that there was something causing the starter to fail that we just didn't find. We both did the maintenance on it like clockwork.

What I am saying though is if you take good care of a cavalier, they last a really long time.

I have a 2000 cavalier sitting on my used car lot with over 211k If a car is taken care of you can drive the cavaliers for a good long time.

~As long as the Vehicle is taken care of,- they can run for many many high-mileage years~

My 1999 Cavalier currently running as a daily driver has about 189,673 miles, ~ aside from normal "on time" maintenance from bumper to bumper.

You should be okay with what you buy, BUT try your best to get any records on the one you chose.

Best wishes!

try taking it to a mechanic first and ask what he thinks it might be. If it's something major you could tell the buyer exactly what it needs done or it could be something that only costs a couple bucks and you could keep the car. Do some research also to see if there's any recalls on the car and it could be covered by GM for free...

hello. chevy cavaliers are older autos, a 2001 would be a newer one ( I think) good luck, check the maintenance records.
