His contract is the problem. No team will take on a multi-million dollar player that has his numbers. I know some people will say that he could get it turned around, but why spend that kind of money on a maybe. There are usually better options that can turn into real talents in the minor leagues who would get paid the league minimum for now, they are a safer & cheaper alternative for any team. And who knows you could be sitting on the Next Hunter Pence or Ryan Braun.
Altough, after he is released, there will probably be teams willing to offer him a minor-league contract for MUCH less money & see if he can play his into a solid MLB player again.

I'm a Mariners fan, and although we have no love lost for A-Rod, he was an established star with a batting title and a 40 HR-40 SB season by the time he was Braun's age (Braun has less than a half season of major league experience in comparison). Morgan Ensberg didn't make much of an impact in the majors before he was 27; Braun is currently 23, and I think Ensberg's good years were a shock to many people. Braun was the fifth overall draft pick in 2005, and there is no question that he has great potential. I would like to see what will happen next season after Braun has been scouted extensively at the major league level. It will be a shock to me if he hits over .340 next season, but I think he will be one of the best offensive third basemen in baseball on an annual basis.

Release looks likely. No team is going to want to give up anything of value on the farm, AND pay any part of Ensberg's $4.35 million salary. He's not the same player anymore, and might be jobless until spring training.

I'd be amazed if they got anything more for him than a spare part single-A "prospect". Depends if some team suddenly gets desperate for a third baseman in the next week. It'll probably go to the release.

He always seemed like a player that should be doing better. He had one good year and could never put it together after that. I would like to see him have another shot somewhere down the line with the Astros or some other team.

I think Morgan Ensberg will be traded to a team who is looking for a bench player. I think he will do better somewhere else.

He will be released. He has taken a free fall since the 2005 season. I also think they should unload Chris Burke and play Ty Wiggington at 2b next season.

I think they've probably explored all trades possible, so a release is likely. It's amazing how far he's fallen from a few years ago.
