With the state that this country is in, I wouldn't expect all of this apologist crap from everyone....

50% of the nation votes. Voters do have a choice, but they don't get off their fat asses to actually make it. If everyone who is so upset about the state of the union actually VOTED at the last election, we wouldn't be where we are today.

edit: Rather than this "apologist crap", were you expecting us to go rally in the streets because you asked a cynical, pissed off question on Y!A? Are you, siting there in your chair, superior to me, sitting here in mine? The country going down the tubes isn't everyone else's fault -- IT'S YOURS TOO.

yep, our supposed "choice" has landed our presidential spot with a monkey who's to stupid to know it and thinks it (that's right, IT) was made president by God. BS_answers statement about "professional politicians" is a sad reality because they brainwash people without them realizing it. It doesn't even matter about the issues. Gore would have smoked Bush if he wasn't boring as hell. Elections now get decided by things like people leaning on podiums during their speeches or past stories. I'm not saying the other candidates were much better, but who gives a **** if your boring as long as you don't destroy the country, like the current ********. Even when the better candidate gets picked they can't get anything done because the opposing party in Senate/house of reps will stop them from passing any bills. The choice to vote is the biggest B.S. in the galaxy since pleading "no contest" was invented.

At least voting keeps this country from become a fascist state. And you do get a choice, you don't have to vote by party, there are other people out there that are running. Your person may not win but at least you didn't for someone you didn't like.

Then be active. Look at who is running for office. If they are professional politicians you only get more of the same. If they are from the working class, then you are getting a neighbor who understands your concerns because they are probably his as well. Were the founding fathers politicians, businessmen, farmers or shopkeepers?

There are 2 great choices this coming election
Gravel/Paul ticket is what I am hoping for, then at least we won't have to pick from the lesser of two evils.

But we have to try to change things: I never voted before, but recently registered because I'm sick of what's happening!
