You always hear that man u is the most supported team in the world and i was wondering how and when they became so big outside of Britian. Why are they bigger than the other big four and the major clubs from italy and spain

a team steeped with pride and history yet continues to progress year after year will win supporters and their money. it has a snowball effect resulting to many spin-offs. man utd continues to be a major player on and off the pitch. YAWN.

I don't think United have the largest fan base in the world.Liverpool probably has.Either that or they're the most arrogant people in the world.I think they got big in the 60s with Bobby Charlton,George Best and some others.But they really exploded onto the scene when they first introduced the Premier League.9 titles in 15 years is really impressive.And then they won doubles and the famous Treble.

I became an United fan partly to piss off my Liverpool-fan family.My dad and my 4th cousin are Chelsea fans.I'm in a multi-club family.But I'm the only one with the bragging rights.

It's because a korean plays for Man U and they all support Man U. But Milan is the best team in the world and they got the best fans no offense to man U fans.

they've always been a large club, but the 'Busby era' definitely increased their profile. Even if, sadly, that was in part due to the Munich air disaster in '58.
