I'm currently shaving every few days, because if I shave more often I get razor bumps and such, but by the third day, the stubble is infuriating. I really wish there was a way to just stay smooth with some minimal daily treatment that wouldn't cost a fortune and wouldn't sting like a # the way Nair does.

Also, if you're a guy who doesn't shave his chest and just wants to tell me I'm gay or that I shouldn't want to shave my chest, you probably aren't going to succeed in answering this question. Thanks though.

To all the guys who think 'men are supposed to have hairy chests'...

by what standard, nature? By that standard, women are supposed to have hairy legs. And I'd hate to see the day they do.

You make a very good point about women preferring to shave their legs versus what society deems as acceptable. It is their business, and if you wish to shave your chest that is entirely your business. That said, I use an Epilady on my legs, but this is not a pain free method. I run it across my legs quickly at first to allow the vibration to numb the surface of the skin. After that, I go more slowly. This method keeps me hairless for three weeks, and believe me I am hairy. I've tried at-home waxes too, but they were a disappointment. I did have a professional waxing once and it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Have you considered making an appointment for professional waxing, and before going in taking some Advil ahead of time to relieve the worst discomfort?

of you just started, it will take a couple months and eventualy you skin will get use to it and you wont have any more problems. but put like vitamin e cream on it after shaving, that will help some. i had the same problem, but it went away, the only thing else would be to get a waxing, but that hurts and causes swelling.

try an at home waxing kit. waxing your own chest isn't that hard. use strip waxing kits though. they work better. if you're shaving, make sure you are using a sharp razor and lots of shaving cream. don't use soap, it dries your skin and causes more irritation. shave with the growth first and go back and shave again against. relather everytime though.

How about accepting the fact that you are a man, and men have hairy chests? Shaved chests look weird, like a plastic Ken doll. Most women prefer that a man look like a man. (Even Barbie gave up on that wimpy Ken!)

waxing and laser removal. Someone on here said that he
had paid about $5500 to have everything lasered, and it took 6 trips. Good Luck!
