Stick with a single pinkie about every 5 or 6 days for now. At only 8 or nine inches there is no rush to double up his food just yet. The pinkies should be about the same thickness as your snakes body. If they are noticeabley thinner then that then you can feed two. Let him grow a bit more, say to 10 inches and then you can consider two pinkies per meal.

DO NOT try and feed him 5 pinkies a day like robertson said... and snakes shed more than once a year... i would continue feeding one pinkie every 5-7 days for the next month.. then try two pinkies..(let him swallow the first one all the way before feeding second one) watch him for 3-4 days.. if he doesnt regurge (throw up) then continue feeding him 2 pinkies every 10 days until he is big enough to move onto fuzzies (aka hopper mice) the mouse (or food) should be no bigger around than the biggest part of the snake

nope...if hes only about 8 or 9 inches long then hes fine at 1 pinkie...u have to think...corn snakes dont get real fat so u dont want an obese corn snake cause it could kill it. now if it was a larger snake such as a python or a rat snake then ide say go ahead with another one but its a corn snake...of course a snake isnt gona turn down another one...but dont feed it more than it usually eats. just start feeding him mice the next size up like maybe a fuzzie then go to hopper then to adult mice

My chum who's a technological know-how instructor had a crimson rat snake that could desire to easily no longer consume for a at a similar time as. sometimes it became simply by fact he became approximately to shed his dermis, wherein case his eyes all started looking milky and different situations, he became in basic terms on the element of hybernate. even although he became saved heat, the shortening of the days made him torpid and he does no longer consume for various months. Then whilst the days have been given longer, he could get extra energetic and commence searching for a manner out of his cage and we would understand he became waiting to consume back. they are able to choose for fairly some time without eating, yet i could furnish him a mouse now and then in basic terms in case he's hungry.

A snake will only eat when his is hungry. You can have live mice running over them and if they are not hungry they will not bother them... So don't worry about feeding him more than he can eat. His shedding skin says he is growing, and they normally do that once per year..
