...I just saw the film, about a week and half ago, at one of the arthouse cinemas, here in San Diego...
It was a very cheezy, outrageous and wholly enjoyable horror comedy, that similarly recalls, and seems to pay a respectable homage to a '70's drive in classic sci-fi/horror film from 1972, entitled "Night of the Lepus", and in some respects, the 1986 rendition of "The Fly", but with today's cinematic sensibilities and advanced (albeit mechanical) special effects.
In fact, it is THOSE comparisons that makes "Black Sheep" so much more unconventional and interesting; it is obvious that the film wants to be respectable, and be taken seriously, but at the same time, it wants to be outrageous and over-the-top campy ("...Lepus" had a much similar problem, back in '72). It's almost like the film has the cinematic version of an identity crisis, but surprisingly enough, in the case of this film, this uneasy combination of attitudes actually works.
Although the film received a very short theatrical run, be of good cheer; on October 9th, "Black Sheep" will see release on DVD, reportedly in a much more over-the-top UNRATED director's cut.
...stay tuned!!!

It's already been released . It's indepent and I have not seen it in any movie theaters, BUT you can watch it on comcast on-demand (last I checked, at least). So find someone with comcast and watch it with them.
