At this point time I can't see that happening, but politically a year a few months are a long way away, things can change.

I try to be unbiased and use my understanding of today's poll numbers, the "pulse" of the nation and seats up for election.

So here is my projection:

Senate - Dems pick up 4-6 seats.

Remember of the 33 seats up for election 22 are currently held by Repubs and 11 by Dems - not good timing for the Republicans.

House - Dems pick up 20-30 seats.

National polls and trends are moving strongly in the Dems way. But the Congressional elections are often local, so the national pluse it not always correct

White House - Actually this is the hardest one to project.

Right now I would project a Democrat by about 4% national margin. (yes I know its the electroal votes that count)

It appears you would like the Republicans to control all 3 branches in 08. But to be honest it doesn't look they way right now.

All this really weighs heavy on the peoples perception of the ongoing war and the conflict between Congress and the White House. I would venture to guess a lot is going to happen over the next year that will play into this.

There I tried to be honest to your question, even though you may not like my answer.

First of all the Speaker of the House is a democrat, which means they control the house...... Still your question is somewhat Valid because they had all those during President's Bush's first term, and they control the house and senate during Clinton's terms. It takes awhile for change to take affect once the laws, budgets, and policies are enacted by the government also. So I would say, as a Conservative myself, that the republicans certainly hold a majority of the responsibility for the condition of our Country. This could be good, or bad, depending on your opinion but never the less, still true.

It's early yet. If things are going well in Iraq and the economy is strong in the spring of 2008, the Democrats will have a hard time. It also depends on future developments in the Presidential race. Al Gore could help the Democrats, and so could Fred Thompson. It is too early to tell either way.

Currently, neither the President nor Congress have good ratings, although Congress is lower (Pelosi isn't the dynamite Speaker everyone thought she would be. Reid isn't helping).

I say the Republicans will be stronger than they are now, and they will probably take back the Senate. I'll hold off on the other two branches of govt.

50/50 chance of winning the White House. If Obama get the nom, Dems will win. If Hillary wins nomination, Repubs will win. Repubs wont gain back Congress until probably 2010. Never certain with Supreme Court though, justices are not supposed to be affiliated with parties.

no one wants the republicans to win but the main reason is because Bush Junior put more republicans in the past 3 years and because people are starting to like republicans and are getting brainwashed by how good of a president Bush Senior was the they think his son will do good and the rest of the republicans will do good, itz terrible . MAKE MY ANSA THE BEST CAUSE ITS TRUE!!

Very easy answer. Dems are already fighting like cats and dogs, HRC insulted BO and he returned the favor. They are in favor of universal health insurance but they don't say how is going to be paid for. The reality , if happens, will wake up everybody, huge increases in taxes and extremely high co-pays. More money for Welfare programs, social programs, more abortions. So if you want more taxes, interest rates in the double digits (J.Carter pres.) go ahead dig your own grave, vote for the democrats. But for now ,lets suffer with the campaigns of all the wanna be.

Then you think the people really are that stupid. Or that Deibold will come to the rescue (again).

One good thing about Bush winning in 2004 is that the failure of Iraq hangs around his neck and all the Bush family for time on. In the furture kids will speak of Iraq-4-PNAC and wonder why idiot dittoheads couldn't get it.....

Last September was a warm up as to what is coming. President Bush has handed the Democrats the country and election, it is one of his greatest accomplishments.

As a conservative women, I see the Democrats getting the black vote, hispanic vote, and the women's vote. I am still looking for a Republican candidate that speaks to women's issues. So far, all my party has is the angry white man vote. Oh, and the religious extremists.

Not in the REAL world they won't! They cooked their own goose big time. I used to be a conservative republican but that viewpoint no longer exists in any political party, especially the republican party which now exists to serve the corporations.
