It shouldn't cause you any problems to remove Internet Explorer.

Microsoft was sued for including Internet Explorer as part of the software bundle for its operating systems because it was creating a monopoly. Since then Internet Explorer has had to be a stand alone program. So if removed it should not affect the Operating System or any installed programs, including Microsoft Office.

Seriously, don't remove it. Get rid of the icon from your desktop if it bothers you, but leave the program.

Why?
Some websites only work with IE
Windows Update is programmed to work with IE
Windows Explorer is tied into IE
Outlook Express is tied into IE

Really, leave it alone. It's difficult to completely remove IE or to reinstall it later.

You cant actually uninstall it. My sister "uninstalled it" but it was still in the computer. Only the icons disappeared from the desktop,. etc.

You can probably manually delete it but Window's uses it for folders, etc. Not recommended.

By manually deleting IE, you would mess up your computer. Try it. Open a folder, any folder and type "google.com" in the url space. Your folder will turn into a browser.

I'd remove it...why have a cluttered desktop full of things you don't use?
