Go through My Computer or the Windows Explorer and create a folder to put t hem in on the C or if equipped D drive. Give it a name for identification such as downloads or drivers. That way it is easy to find, and easy to access no matter where you are or what is used. In Firefox you can point all downloads to that folder. In IE you will have to open it each time.

When you download drivers, you get an executable file that will install the driver(s) into the proper directory. So, store the download file somewhere you can find it later in case you need to reinstall the drivers. (I burn cd's too and keep them with my system discs.)
After the download, you double-click to run the installer. The installation process will put the drivers where they should be.

Open my computer and click on your C: drive. create a new directory called 'download' and when asked where to save them, browse to this directory and open it and save them there. If you are downloading multiple files (video, lan, sound, etc.) create a directory under download for each of these and then save them there. When you are done installing them, copy your download folder to a cd so you can keep them for the next reinstall. (you know it will happen) Good Luck.

1. Somewhere in an easy to find directory in case you need to reinstall them. Like c:/Drivers, so I can find it easily even in DOS.
2. Somewhere off the computer in case you have to reinstall the operating system, you will reformat the hard drive and need those drivers all over again.

if you don't have driver folder just create one as temp downloads. I like to install automatic than adding things on your hard drive. If you don't have a big hard drive is a wastage of space.

you can just save them on your drive c or anywhere on your laptop. But it is safer if you save it on your drive c in case things get messy.
