Hmmm. Interesting. Clean is a very vague term, in this case. But, in my opinion, ABSOLUTELY. Where I live the tap water is horrible. Only the unfortunate who cannot afford bottled or filtered water drink it. But, consider this...the water that comes from your tap has traveled through the pipes and this process, by itself, is going to alter the taste of the water. Just as water in a bottle has an altered taste because minerals (for example) have been added to it.

Locally, yes, I can. Our tap water is nearly undrinkable. Sometimes it comes out of the faucet in any shade from acid yellow to brown, and other times, it runs clear. It has a distinctive and strange taste that I wish I could forget. There's a town about 25 miles from here where I'll drink the tap water, though, and it's not so bad.

well, many bottled waters are just purified tap. Straight from the tap, yeah, I can taste the chlorine and smell it, I drink Mountain Valley Spring 98% of the time for over 12 years now.

Bottled water IS tap water. Have you not heard the Aquifina scandal? They just had the letters TFTW on the label, or something similar to that...triple filtered tap water!

Bottled water is just tap water in a bottle. In fact, new laws are requiring the labels to state just that. Watch for changes on the Aquafina bottles shortly...
