Is there any reason mankind should continue? What is the point really? I am only 34 and I am so tired of everything. There is nothing worth doing anymore. The world is so messed up that nobody knows the truth about anything. The world is such a horrible place that I am ready to be finished with it. The world would be so much better off without us anyway.

What do you think

(additions) I am already on many anti-drpressants. I have 3 great kids. The get good grades and do chores and rarely make mistakes. Our family has went from poverty to extreme wealth and now enjoy a middle class existence. Everyone says find a hobbie or do something. There is nothing I feel like doing. I can do whatever I want. I have classic cars, a boat, big house, big yard, vacation property and a happy family. I just hate seeing what the world is becoming. I am sad that my kids will have to go through this hell we call life. Many people use hobbies, religion and sports etc. to make themselves "feel" like life is wonderful. People are raised to refuse to see and understand the world for what it really is. Every single thing on this earth happens in one way or another because of big business.

I have done the "be the miracle" I am just tired. I do not leave my house for several weeks at a time now. I am glad you all enjoy life. I seriously think the world would be better w/o us/me

That once you hit rock bottom, the only place is up?

Freedom will come when we learn to throw off the government and their dogma. When those who destroy us are destroyed

Then it will be a world where the word Peace does not apply, only existence

I'm really sorry that you feel like this. There are a lot of problems in the world but there is also a lot that is worthwhile. Why not maybe try doing something to make it better? I help adults learn to read and write once a week so they can improve their lives. It has done as much or more for me and my outlook as it has for my students. Sometimes when you feel reallly bad the best thing is to use it to motivate yourself to make changes. Everyone can find their meaning, it just may take a change in direction and searching. If you aren't here or humanity isin't here the possibility for growth is gone. Reach out to someone you love and can trust to be there. Immerse yourself in doing some activities you really enjoy and require you to focus yourself on them rather than think about stuff that gets you down. Get out of your mind a bit and try not to dwell on things so much. Workout, run, hike, or some other physical activity. I run and when you workout your body releasing endorphins that improve your mood. Maybe see a counselor or professional, you could have depression which is a real medical condition. I don't think this world would be better without you. If you don't have children yet, I hope someday when you are ready you will hold a child of your own and know joy and love.

You're depressed but still intelligent, right? Then, you must realise that your position is too extreme. Try to find a middle road/steer a course for balance. It's not all destruction & banality. Just last night on PBS, I saw a show about Hawaii & ecological responsibility. The sea turtles, for example, have returned from the edge of extinction & now flourish. There is so much wrong, but good people fight every day for what is right. Why don't you make one move now--send a donation to WWF, the World Wildlife Fund. With your money, you could save many creatures' lives, like the pygmy elephants of Borneo, wolves, pick any you like. They're in need!

I think there are people that should not be allowed to contribute to the gene pool, but on a global species setting I sincerely doubt the human race will stop procreating and perpetuating itself.
Also you believe that the world is a horrible place, and I agree with you on that, there are a multitude of beautiful and wonderful things on this planet.
There is always something worth doing. This ball of rock and water which rotates around the star humans commonly refer to as "the sun", has existed for quite some time and probably with after the condition known as the human species either leave this place or die out do to their own stupidity and arrogance is long gone. 34 and tired of everything huh? Get up and go for a walk somewhere depending on where you live. you will encounter humans from every walk of life. Diversity is worth doing. Don't worry about this planet. it will be here long after humans are gone. It'll be fine. Just stop and take a look around. There are lots of things worth doing and doing well. The point you are looking for is within yourself. Take a look inside. you you don't like something change it. if you like it embrace it.

The world is no more messed up to day than it was 2000 years ago!

The only difference is today you have TV news telling you how terrible it is!

The world is improving all the time, when was the last time you heard of Yellow fever, one the black pledge?

How many countries allow slavery?

How many countries observe basic human rights?

In most countries the old are taken care of not left to die because they take up valuable resources of the tribe.

More children live to be adults than ever before.

Life expectancy is longer than ever before.

In most countries wife abuse, child abuse, animal abuse is against the law. 100 years ago that was not true.

We now know how to take care of nature and we no longer allow animals to be hunted into extinction IE Buffalo, Grey Wales.

No our world is not perfect but I do believe it is getting better all the time.

well i think you need something to live for
most people live for religous reasons
like i do
and others live because...why not?
if you feel that way maybe i suggest anti depressants.. i don't really know
( i really don't suggest anti depressants)
......probably best i don't answer this but, for me i am happy with life and i don't see why it should not continue... if things in the world are bad then you yourself decide to be good and that is all you can do
to quote whoever said this
"be the change you wish to see in the world"
hope this help-be happy!

I think you think too much.

Why would you convince yourself of this type of reality? Hopelessness comes from choosing thoughts and evidence that are inconsistent with reality. Your hopelessness is not an obligation on others. You may not want to go on, but others might.

Being more responsible in our procreation is a worthy endeavour. Self-imposed annihilation, well, that is another.

I think you need to go to a doctor and tell him you are depressed. Or just show him what you wrote above. Get some help.

I knid of agree with you. I really don't intend to have kids, because it isn't fair to put them in this sort of situation.

The world has gone crazy.
