The Russell-era Celtics never won 9 straight, only 8.

1962-1963 Boston Celtics. Cousy's last year and Havlicek's rookie year. No one knew it at that time but this was the team that has the most insane concentration of talent in an NBA team ever.

The 1995-96 Chicago Bulls with an NBA record setting 72-10 win-lose mark. A team lead by Jordan and ably supported by his supporting cast, Pippen, Kukoc, Rodman, Longley, Kerr to name a few.

Definitely the Olympic Dream team with Jordan and all the other greats. They destroyed the rest of the worlds olympic teams without much of an effort. If only we still sent all our best players from the NBA maybe we would win again =(.

2004 NE Patiots my personal favorite, won something like 23 consecutive games (includes Superbowl run previous year!) but they also were a band of good players with no egos to speak of on the team. Rare for a modern sports team to buy into such a strong team first mentality!

Other reasonable answers
70-12 Bulls I didn't like them but they were rediculously good!

The Celtics teams that won 9 consecutive championships.

2004 Red Sox any team that refers to themselves as "a bunch of idiots" takes a special place in my heart!
