That really depends on how warm or cool the water is to begin with. 60F water will come to typical room temperature faster than 50F water.

As a side note, room temperatures are generally too cool for a betta. They need slightly warmer water to do well. I would suggest you get a 50 watt heater for the tank and keep it at about 76-80F. You betta will thank you for it.

Bettas like a lot of room they are much happier in it! Let the water sit in the tank room for about 2 hours or so. You should put plenty of plants in the tank or if you want another fish in there you could just get a divider the betta/other fish cant see through! Good luck :]

go with a bit smaller tank for a betta
it depends how big the tank is but let a ten gallon sit for at least 1.5-2 hours

Just put him in a plastic bag (like how they give you at a pet shop) (or I put mine in a plastic cup) and put that in the tank for an hour.

Betta's need muuuuuuch smaller tanks/bowls. They love less room. And it depends on how hot/cold the water is? It won't hurt bettas much unless its totally freezing, or very hot.
