I just watched Transformers,
and in the last scene, Sam put that cube into which transformer's chest? and who died?
i didn't really get it when Optimus Prime said we lost a friend we also got a new one. wasnt the one transformer who died was the bad one, why he called him friend?

One of the good guys died, Jazz. I think Megatron killed him. At the end, Sam put the cube in Megatron. :)

Sam put the cube in Megatron's (the bad leader) chest. Jazz was killed by Megatron in earlier scene. Optimus Prime was refering to Jazz when he said he lost a friend.. and when he said new one.. he was refering to the human beings.. get it?

Sam put the cube in the chest of the bad guy, Megatron.
One of their friends DID die. It was Optimus Prime's Second in Command, Jazz, the small Pontiac Solstice. He was killed by either Starscream, the jet, or by Blackout, the helicopter. I remember him being torn to half.
Anyways, what he meant was that they may have lost "Jazz", they gained Sam, or maybe the Humans, trust and friendship.
This is what I think happened. Maybe around 90%-95% percent sure.

All the actors signed up for three films. Yes, Starscream and Barricade did not die, and will be shown in the next film. The movie was intentionally left open-ended so a sequel could be made. The film will be released Summer 2009, unless the industry strike gets in the way. That piece could be used for the same reasons as the whole cube, even if it is weaker.

but earlyer in the end when megatron was still alive
JAZZ=good guy (one of optimus's friends)
got torn in 2 by megatron
but in the end they found jazz's body and took it to optimus
they couldn't fix him
so optimus was talking about jazz when they lost a great friend

Optimus was talking about Jazz, the autobot. Megatron killed Jazz by ripping him apart. He was the 'friend we lost' Prime was referring to.

Remember that Jazz was ripped in half by Megatron. Optimist Prime was referring to Jazz as the friend they lost, and for the new friend; he was referring to "SAM".
