It's easy to see that by reading several of the answers, Orwell had it right. If the government can frighten the people enough and keep them afraid. They will give up all their freedom in the name of security.

My answer is absolutely not. It seems some of the others are quite willing to be sheeple.

No and no. I find the micro-chip idea to be one of the most appalling and Un-American ideas ever. It's a notion beyond Orwell's imagination. It's the ultimate invasion of our privacy. The government knows what you're doing, where you're doing it and who you're doing it with. In my opinion the federal gov't should run the military and the protect the border and nothing else. This micro-chip idea, as well as the "national ID card" (I believe we already have those, they're called Social Security Numbers) is quite facist and just plain wrong.

No but the writing is on the wall now, once we have to start paying £1000 a year ID card tax to cover administration costs and 'security issues' they will offer to chip families for a one off fee (then insist on chipping poor families who can't afford to chose) and that will be our first real step toward becoming our master's cyborg slaves. With hi def street surveillance, two way cable TV, mobiles/cell phones and road pricing we will need good reasons to be anywhere other than exactly where we are supposed to be ie. making money for the administrators and bureaucrats running the show or spending it on approved junk.

There's no need for that, for the most part. Fingerprints & photographs offer all the identification needed to tell who's who. However, there may be situations that call for it, such as a sex offender who is a high risk to the community yet has served his jail time and can't be kept in prison. I'd have no problem tagging a person like that for life.

No, I would not much care for that. As for my children, I held off as long as possible in getting them a Social Security Number, so I would not like them chipped either.

It depends on the reason. If it contained personal ID info in case of medical problems or such that you could not answer due to injury... Maybe.

If a child was kidnapped and it had ID info... Maybe.

It really depends though on the reason for it.

It really depends on what the circumstances are. If there is a rash of kidnappings sure.

They will never find a good reason for me to voluntarily do it, so they will force me, like always.
