Well any friggen wonder given their dubious account of events.

Waiting nearly 3 months before remembering a key suspect who has practically been in the spotlight since the first day will tend to do that.

And should I get started on how they spotted Murat 'peeking' into the apartment before the abduction, but decided seeing a strange man peeking into your friends apartment wasnt suspicious enough to warrant mentioning this to the parents even though they knew the kids were asleep in an unlocked room.

I would love to have a word with the 'friends' of the McCanns myself to question them on some of their accounts of what happened that night. Ought to expose a few flaws in their story ......

Frances - You possibly could be right. The article I read is a little ambigious as it says it happened on the night she went missing so doesnt specify whether it was before or after the event, but I guess its reasonable to assume it was after.

However - IF she spotted a 'man (murat)' peeking into the apartment, then shouldnt he (murat) take a number and join a very long line.

Police have already specified that at least 2 dozen people trapsed through the McCann apartment before police could cordon off the apartment, going on a 50/50 ratio, then that means at least a dozen men that night were inside the apartment that night, so why would Murat 'peeking' into the apartment be so noticeable when the McCanns were inviting all and sundry to come in and wreck a crime scene within their apartment.

Just when I thought that the Daily Express was going to step outside the box and take the lead in exposing these complete wastes of space.. they end up supporting them. That paper is fit for nothing but the bonfire!

How is that that two mediocre doctors can have so much control over the media and I say mediocre as that are not exactly Harley Street doctors or working for a top research hospital in London [which is what you would expect from an eminent Cardiologist!]... my best friend is a senior solicitor and she could not muster up the support and backing that these people have...the public reaction to them is bizarre to say the least. It is as if there has been a mass hypnotism....

Dave why should you find it strange that these "friends" only reported seeing Murat peeking into the window after the event... we can not only judge the parents by their own behaviour but by the company they keep.

The McCanns had better be careful as Murat may very well set up his own fund [with backing from the Portuguese people] to sue them for libel...

You know i have been away for three days living in a world where broadband is the holy grail ..so i relied on newspapers to keep up to date ..

I am so annoyed at how the express has changed tatics and become all positive for the mccanns and i was infuriated when i read a closing statement "The mcanns are dealing with this in their own way and those against them should o well to remember that"(or words to that effect).

The express is creating more anger and trying to manipulate for its own gains ..

I am outraged .. i should have listened to Dave s when he said all media was biased he was right .. but i really believed in my heart that the express being the thinking persons paper was taking a unreported route into discovering the web of deceit and lies ..

People are outraged by the whole thing.. i was set in a cafe and a couple were discussing the mccanns and how they were blanket protected by the media ..

How many people have the same feelings ??????????

How on earth, if they really were all dining together and the staff of the Tapas bar said none of them left the bar did all the 'sightings' occur. And how come they identified Murat by his 'lazy eye'at a distance of more than a few yards. Gosh they must have good eyesight in the dark! ' It also puzzles me that, if the tapas bar are telling the truth, how come all the McCann friends who, allegedly, never left the table, have spotted all this? There are questions to be answered here!

OK there are two issues here One what the guy said to you : That I find completely inappropriate. Not only does he not have children to know what parenting is like to be able to give advise, but he was rude about it. Even if he did have children to each their own!! Or he REALLY felt like he needed to give you advise he could have said it ina different way and tone. I've found myself not saying please and thank you to my kids at times as well, but mainly when I've asked them to get their shoes on to go outside for the 5th time!! LOL Now Second is the issue about your 6 1/2 yr old girl who is learning to tie her shoes... I think it is age appropriate the learning to tie her shoes, though not many kids her age already do. As for falling and hurting her chin for not tying her shoes.. maybe she's fining it too hard to tie them and that's why she's not doing it?? You say you tell her a million times a day to tie her shoes.. so Im wondering whether even after falling and opening her chin she's still not doing it...just a thought

I actually started buying the express last week after they had questioned the McCanns actions but they are a bunch of *&$^&£$&(£$ like the rest of the British media. No more newspapers, Im going to read the news on line - Im boycotting the newspapers and am not giving them my hard earned cash until they start reporting fairly.

What I find bizarre, is that any critisism of the McCanns (or their friends) is immediately branded a "hate campaign". This goes against the fundamental human right of freedom of speech.

We must never be afraid to speak out or question - the alternative is a dictatorial society.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...Murat is being used as a patsy....and if it ever comes to trial...the jury will have a hard time convicting him....on the evidence thats presented before them....I couldn't find him guilty....without a shadow of doubt....

they have had plenty of time to think up all sorts of excuses or reasons for what or might have happened by now, haven't they?
neither will admit they've done anything wrong.
their whole account of events will fall apart as soon as one of their "friends" feels the pressure, sees sense & admits
leaving your kids in an unlocked apartment 100 yards away while they filled their bellies was STUPID, after all!
they could have ordered in & eaten in another room, they had afterall hired the whole apartment!

but this selfishness is sadly becoming all too common ( thank swan-tip for the link ) what is it with educated parents who think nothing of leaving their kids alone?
this pair thought it was ok to leave their children in a hotel room alone, while they went outside to watch a fire-works display!
they must have had the only hotel room without a window!
& now even have the nerve to sue ( millions, of course ) the police dept for wrongful arrest!
where's all the common sense gone?

If I were a friend of theirs - aside from offering them all the practical and emotional support I could, I would be very wary of how I portrayed myself to others especially the public/ press. I wouldn't want people to think they I in any way justified what they did on that night - people would already be making their own assumptions about the friends who were with them while they were out !
If you collude with guilty people, you automatically become guilty by association.

Well Yes that peeking thing, it made me wonder why you would go and leave kids after a peeping Tom was there. I am not convinced on the Murat thing as yet anyhow. Feel the evidence isnt strong enough.
