It is tough to watch turtles lay eggs- they usually do it at night with no warning.

Some signs time is getting close can include digging test nests, sniffing around odd places on the ground, increased tendency to hide, etc- but they do not always show any signs.

Be aware that turtles kept indoors rarely lay fertile eggs- if there has been no contact with a male for over 3 years, if the egg is laid anywhere other than in a good underground nest, etc. then the eggs will not be fertile.

If theres not a male in the tank then they won't hatch. They would be infertile & you'll need to take them out as soon as she lays them & throw them away. You'll know that she layed them if you see a little mound of dirt in the tank. She will dig a little hole & bury them & then cover them up. If they are fertile take them out of the tank after she has buried them & put them in a little container & cover them with dirt. The temerature needs to be 80 degrees farenheit at all times. They eggs will hatch in about 30 days.

Usually they will find the warmest spot in the tank, but I have seen one stay where it is in the back where its not as warm as the sides. Well sometimes they will dig a hole and sit in it for a while, best to keep an eye on them when they do that, as if anything can go wrong (eating soil or whatever cover you have). Good luck! :)

u dont have to do anything if they have babies it means that she thinks it is a good habitat. but if there is no male presont she they wont hatch. if she digs a hole and sits there for a while and after that she burries the hole she has layed the egs
