i have the latest version of MAME 0.118.0.0. I can play it and everything. the only thing that irritates me is that every time i play i always have to set the input commands, like for punch to be "a". every time i start its like a different command from the last time i play. also my friend wanted to play, so he plugged in a joystick controller. its the same every time we start a game, we have to set in the commands. isnt there anyway i can save the input command and leave it like that forever? please can anyone me instructions to save my input commands? thank you so much.

then PROPERTIES
Click CONTROLLERS
Goto DEFAULT INPUT LAYOUT
Pick SAMPLE CUSTOM CONTROLLER
Click CONTROLLER MAPPING
Goto CONTROLLER ID LAYOUT
Adjust settings
Click Apply
A few things also are you using MAME32 .118 or the command line version? Are you playing MAME from a CD?
